At Gerald McShane School we are committed to making learning an enriching experience. The staff is dedicated to fostering academic excellence through the development of the whole student: intellectually, physically, and socially. We also emphasize the importance of friendship; we instill in our students a sense of belonging and provide them with a positive learning environment to motivate them to achieve their own personal success. Gerald McShane School is located at 6111 Maurice Duplessis in Montreal North. Its present population is 276 students from Kindergarten to Grade 6. The school hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. with daycare services available in the morning and afterschool until 6:00 p.m. Students residing within the Gerald McShane territory are entitled to receive school bus transportation services. If you wish to visit the school or learn more about our programs, activities, and services, you may call (514) 321-1100 and schedule an appointment with the school principal who will be delighted to show you the school and answer all your questions. Registration for siblings of Gerald McShane students will take place January 31st - February 4th, 2012. Registration for new students will take place February 6-10, 2012. Parents are asked to call the admissions secretary at 514-321-1100 to set an appointment for registration of their child. Registration will take place between the hours of 8:30 am and 2:30 pm. If you are unable to accomodate these hours please advise the secretary. Parents must bring with them: • The child’s birth certificate (long version) showing the names of mother and father, • The child’s Medicare card, and • The Certificate of Eligibility of the child being registered, if available, otherwise the Certificate of Eligibility of an older brother/sister/natural parent (or report card and birth certificate of one of the parents).

Our Holiday Breakfast took place in the school gym on Tuesday, December 20th. All students of Gerald McShane were served a complete breakfast. Much thanks to the numerous parent volunteers that made this event a success. December has been a busy month at Gerald McShane daycare. Children have been painting and decorating Christmas ornaments. The children also decorated the Christmas tree.
